REQUIREMENTS FOR REGISTRATION OF A BUSINESS NAME IN KENYA(CAP 499 LAWS OF KENYA )
- Proposed business name must be reserved pending registration. Application for reservation should be made in writing and accompanied with the prescribed fee.
- Once a name is approved the applicant(s) should complete a statement of particulars form obtainable from the Registry.
- The form should be lodged together with the prescribed form
- Certificate of registration is processed within two weeks of presentation of correctly filled forms.
- Refusal of registration is communicated in writing.
- Any change in particulars of a registered business should be notified to the Registrar on the prescribed form i.e. Notice of change form and in case of cessation , Notice of Cessation Form.
